In Fairfax, we painted a treehouse mural while the room was still being built. Carpenters hanging climbing walls and monkey bars, installers laying floor equipment, us painting around and between it all. For GrOH! Playrooms, we had to adapt in real time, adjusting as the physical structures took shape, keeping the whimsical illustrative vision intact while the space itself was still becoming.
Four days, multiple coats, a room large enough that coverage demanded speed without sacrificing character. Kids now enter that space and find themselves inside a painted treehouse that actually connects with the treehouse structure they’re climbing on, the illustration and the physical world speaking the same language, inviting them to play in both at once.
