You’re at the Transformers One premiere in New York City, and behind the actors is a painted backdrop that doesn’t look like a painted backdrop. We built and painted the flats in our studio using Montana spray paint, then delivered and installed them on-site as a step-and-repeat for Paramount Pictures and Hasbro designed to feel authentic on camera and even more authentic up close.
The design is pure street art sensibility: bold shapes, limited palette, raw energy, the kind of guerrilla-aesthetic approach that reads through a lens and holds up in person. That night, Chris Hemsworth, Keegan-Michael Key, and the full cast stood in front of it, and the thing didn’t feel like movie-set wallpaper. It felt earned.
