Greetings Tour supplied the travel-decal design for this 12-by-9-foot mural in Auburn, Illinois. American Mural handled the on-site production with one painter. The mural stands beside the historic brick road; it was painted on the silo’s riveted metal, not on the road itself.
The corrugated surface and rows of rivets made fine lines difficult, so we used spray paint to build the limited-color graphic around the metal. Wind and rain delayed the start, but the work was completed once the weather cleared. The finished piece includes a bricklayer as a reference to the crew that laid the nearby road in 1931.
